Wednesday, November 26, 2003Rain then snow. I am staying warm with 20 oz. cans of Milwaukee's Best Ice, which is strong and good tasting. On the way in today we saw a flock of Canadian geese heading south, but strangely they were all hag-ridden by RATS! A very savage life up here in the far north... Posted by: headsfromspace / 8:46 AMThursday, November 20, 2003The rain is gone. The air is cold and sharp and the sun out and it's very bright. It is deer season now and a lot of people around here are thinking it's a good day to kill some deer. Not me. Not into it. Could go for the drinking many cans of beer part of it, though. Run, deer, run! Posted by: headsfromspace / 8:38 AM Wednesday, November 19, 2003Bla de bla bla. I was outside smoking a cigarette this morning when I heard my neighbor down in the valley talking to someone or something. "Get out of here!" she shouted. Then she must have gone to get one of her many guns, because the next thing I heard was the "POP" of a discharged weapon. Probably whatever it was is dead now. Since I met her almost two years ago, she has confessed to killing raccoons, squirrels, groundhogs, etc. Not to mention her yearly trips to Colorado to kill an Elk. An Elk license costs several hundred dollars.Fun with guns! Posted by: headsfromspace / 7:58 AM Tuesday, November 18, 2003I spent all of yesterday working on a template for a new blog which will deal with less personal things like politics, the internet, and webpage coding. So the new blog is here in case you want to visit it. Not much there right now except some interesting links. It's a work in progress.... Posted by: headsfromspace / 5:23 AMMonday, November 17, 2003Last night, watching flying monkeys on TBS, I realized that they are still scary...and they have blue faces...neato! Posted by: headsfromspace / 4:05 PM Second rejection from Flashquake though this time they actually read it and reviewed it:fiction: The Tramp Editor 1 Vote: No Comments: This piece is almost entirely composed of sentence fragments and amounts to little more than a description of this man. Editor 2 Vote: Maybe Comments: This piece works better as a prose poem than fiction as it doesn't have much of a story. Still, the images are vivid and the characterization realistic. A nice piece of flash. A very interesting web page with photographs here. Posted by: headsfromspace / 7:56 AM Saturday, November 15, 2003Mrs. Walton: "John-boy! What are you doing up in your room with the door locked?"John-boy: "Nothing, Mama!" sure, John-boy, sure... Weather in Big Rapids: Gloomy and misty, 45 degrees. Chance of flying monkeys: 20% and falling. Listening to: Elvis Costello and The Attractions ~Get Happy~ Good: Coffee and Cigarettes in the morning. Bad: War, lack of empathy, selfishness. I've updated the links, so check out some of them if you feel like it. Everyone in the world has a blog and some of them are pretty interesting. Ambition: Try to be nice to the next person I meet. Posted by: headsfromspace / 12:19 PM Friday, November 14, 2003Here is the epitaph that Kurt Vonnegut says he wants on his tombstone:"Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt" He's so cool. Posted by: headsfromspace / 5:57 AM I woke up yesterday to blistering cold and evil winds. I was supposed to go over to a neighbor's house and do some yardwork, but I thought "hey, he'll say no way because the weather is too evil." So I called him at noon and he wanted me to work...what could I do? Of course I went and it wasn't too bad. I got up on his roof and cleaned out his gutters. I mowed his frozen and snowy lawn. I moved piles of dirt and piles of leaves. I stayed warm because I was working hard. That was my adventure for yesterday. I had planned on working on my story when I got home, but I didn't because I was too tired. Instead, I watched TV and petted the cats who never come around me unless I'm the only one home. If you want to look at funny pictures go here. Posted by: headsfromspace / 5:53 AM Wednesday, November 12, 2003Here is an interesting quote I got off Cost of War.Com:"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed." President Dwight D. Eisenhower April 16, 1953 Ain't it the truth? ![]() Where am I? I am at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. I am in the library surrounded by students type type typing away at their computers. Today I bought some headphones so I wouldn't have to listen to them. Already, it's so much better. I am listening to Netscape Radio, the 80's channel. What do I listen to at home? The Ramones: Anthology Guitar Wolf: Jet Generation The Dwarves: The Dwarves are young and good looking Dick Dale: Better Shred than Dead Jefferson Airplane: Volunteers Do you feel better now? The weather today is very foggy. The insane weatherman says we will have a blizzard tomorrow. He is insane. Tasks for today: Work on a short story called "The Chromatic Perverts". Work on the website. Locate and steal cool pictures on the web. Posted by: headsfromspace / 8:31 AM Tuesday, November 11, 2003Before I forget, happy birthday to Kurt Vonnegut, America's greatest living novelist. He is 81 years old today. Posted by: headsfromspace / 3:53 PM Weather in Big Rapids, Michigan: Big rain yesterday, and when I woke up I stood by the window drinking coffee and watching the turkeys shivering in the trees. Today: Cloudy and windy with an 80% chance of extreme bullshit. Posted by: headsfromspace / 1:15 PM Recently I had an entire site deleted from Brinkster.Com for some rule violation. It turns out that I saved most of my files so it didn't matter to much, just rude not to tell me why. They started putting ads on their free sites (mine is free, I am poor.) and so the new site I have with them will soon be abandoned. I'll keep you updated on what is going on with that.Been skimming a lot of blogs, looking for interesting designs and whatnot. Will post some links to some of the better ones once I get around to it. Hi. This is my new blog. The design is from Blogskins.Com and I thought it was pretty cool, so I modified it for like ten freaking hours or more until it was finally positioned right and covered up the blogspot ad. Posted by: headsfromspace / 1:12 PM Hi. This is my new blog. The design is from Blogskins.Com and I thought it was pretty cool, so I modified it for like ten freaking hours or more until it was finally positioned right and covered up the blogspot ad. Yea for me! The design was made by applying a alpha filter to a table, something I didn't know you could do until I saw this design. So I guess I'll talk about writing, web design, net surfing, and other stuff here. Check in now and then, I'm sure you'll find some links that you like, and junk that rocks.
